The aim of ADA

A|D|A-the Austrian Directors' Association was founded in 1994 as a non-profit organization. Its purpose is to ensure the political, legal and economic interests of Austrian film and tv directors.

A|D|A-represents its members with regard to their dealings with all users, distributors and producers of audiovisual works and television broadcasters.

A|D|A-has a membership totaling 73 at present and is an active member of the Dachverband der Österreichischen Filmschaffenden (a union of Austrian Film-Creatives).

A|D|A-publishes its NEWS each month for the purpose of keeping its members informed and maintains regular contact with its foreign counterparts. Public podium discussions are held several times each year on topical themes of interest, and meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month.

The A|D|A (Austrian Directors' Association) represents the interests of Austrian directors both at home and abroad as a member of the FERA (European Directors' Association). The FERA's registered office is based in Brussels together with many other important bodies of the European Union.

A|D|A stands for the freedom of art, creativity and expression as well as for the Austrian and European film culture.

The main activities of the A|D|A concentrate on social, cultural, political, legal and financial improvements for the Austrian Directors.What is the A|D|A?
A|D|A is the trade association and information desk, especially arranged for the needs of Austrian Directors.

The members are dynamic individualists, who offer support and strike for a common goal, despite the "solitary competitors".

There are things which cannot be realised by an individual. But as an association the A|D|A tries to improve the conditions of production for the individual's creative activities. With excellent connections, special know-how and lobbying, the A|D|A aim for social, cultural, political and financial improvements for their profession.
